Releasing the Tomcod back to the Water

Why should you release the Tomcod

By releasing the small fish back to the water, you are participating to the preservation of very important fish species to St-Laurents rivers ecosystem, the Atlantic Tomcod.

A recent study, from the Minister of the environment, fight against climat change, wildlife and Parcs, suggests that the Tomcods population could suffer an imbalance caused by the waning of young fish and even higher mortality rates then the preceding year.

Releasing the Tomcods back to the water makes it easier for them to reproduce and insures its return to the Sainte-Anne river for the following years.
